Run report after parameter selected
My report has a Date parameter. Can the report be run automatically after the date is changed without clicking on View Report button?
Thanks
I don't think it can. The toolbar is generated by the reportserver and you can't hook into any events and there is no Autorun option to my knowledge.
The only hack I can think of is displaying the report in a custom page, view the source to find out the ids/names that RS assigns to your parameters and the name of the js function called when the "View Report" button is pressed. You then write some javascript that hooks into the onChage event of the dropdown and simulate the pressing of the button by calling the relevant function manually.
Like I said that is a real hack and is not likely to be very flexible but you could experiment. Eaither way you can't modify the Report Manager to do this you would have to write a custom page.

Run a view and Export results as a CSV file
following. any help on this would be appreciated.
1. Run a View for the results set
2. Export this data to a csv file.
3. Run a batch job which FTP's the data to an off site server.
Note I have developed the view for my data and know how to implement the FTP
transfer using a batch file/Command. What I don't know is how to export the
results automatically at the end of the view and executing the batch job.

Jeff

One option is to use DTS to do this.
You can use a data pump task to select from the view. Use a
text destination connection for the destination file and set
this to be a csv file. Then use an execute process task to
execute your batch job or you can use it to execute the
command line FTP to send the files to the FTP site.

rss data no adds/edits/deletes
I'm hoping someone can get me pointed in the right direction
we have SQL 2005 and I need to add a user account to let some only view the data
no edits / adds / deletes ?
can any one help
thanks
David
By default any created user and mapped user account is only member of the database role public. This role by default can′t Select, Insert, Update nor Delete anything. If you grant only Select to the user, he will only be able to select the data and will get an error message if he wants to do anything beyond that. (But don′t forget that the user will automatically inherit the permissions from every group he is a member of, including the public role)HTH, Jens K. Suessmeyer.
