RUN SQL Profiler with non sysadmin role in SQL Server 2000

Hi,

Is it possible to RUN SQL Profiler with non sysadmin role in SQL Server 2000?
Is it possible to include the GRANT ALTER TRACE function to SQL Server 2000?

Hi David,

It's NOT possible to use SQL profiler with non-admin role in SQL Server2000, NOR can you use "Grant Alter Trace" to grant a non-admin an access to run profiler in SQLServer 2000.

This feature is new in SQLServer 2005.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

thanks,

Allen

Run an SQL function interdatabase.

Hi all,

I have a User function created within one SQL DB (an allways existing DB), but I want to run it on DB's (with same structure: tabels, views,...) that are dinamically created (one per mount), is this possible?

NeuralCyou can write the queries in the stored proc as a generalized ones using opendatasource etc and pass the server name,databsse name as parameters but it could be very slow..

Run a MS Access Sub from DTS pkg??

Does anyone have any experience with running an Access subroutine from a DTS package (vbscript)? I've tried using the Call function & get the following error. (also tried changing the sub to a function, but still get the error)

Error Source: DAO Properties

Error Description: Error Code 0
Error Source = Microsoft VBScript runtime error
Error Description: Type Mismatch: 'Att4Sum2'

Error on Line 8

Property not found.

Here's my vbscript code in the DTS package:

Function ExportAttachmentData()
Dim objDB
Set objDB = CreateObject("Access.Application")
objDB.OpenCurrentDatabase("C:\DBReports.mdb")
Call Att4Sum2
objDB.CloseCurrentDatabase
objDB.Quit
ExportAttachmentData = DTSTaskExecResult_Success
End Function

Thanks!
